It’s always interesting to work on a project that takes more than a day or two. Over the summer I’ve been working on producing a multimedia piece about a cobbler in Intervale, NH. Peter Limmer of Limmer Boots, works in an old dance hall with one other guy making hiking boots. It’s all done by hand except for a few 1920 singer sewing machine and a few other “modern” conveniences. 12 to 18 months is the wait for a pair of these boots and that backlog seldom gets any shorter. Here’s a photograph of Peter and the filing system used to keep track of the boots as they move through the process. More to come on this multimedia project.
