Long Exposure Photography

It’s remarkable how far photography equipment has come in the last decade especially while working on long exposures. Most striking is how high you can push a digital sensor and still get clear imagery, with little or no noise. Shooting a Nikon D800 I spent an evening shooting the night sky here in North Conway, NH. Trial and error is still part of the equation with photography, but far more efficient with a LCD back and being able to adjust after each frame instead of processing the film, looking at notes, etc. So within a few minutes timing, shutter speed and aperture are dialed in and images of the Milky Way pop out of the back of the camera amazing my chimp like brain.
